Alain Nicod

 

 

Alain is the managing partner of VI Partners. He is mostly active in the information technology sector but also contributes through his entrepreneurial background to critical decisions within other portfolio companies. Alain joined VI Partners in the summer of 2002. Between 1989 and 2002 he has been investing in various companies in the medical instrumentation (compex.ch) and in the information technology sectors (smart-telecom.ch, sourcingparts.com, mnc.ch, leshop.ch, securicard.ch, etc.). In most cases he was a founder of the company or a very early seed investor. He also held executive positions in some of them. During his pre-entrepreneurial period he consulted leading telecommunication operators on issues related to cable television, interactive services and M&A transactions. Alain started his career at Arthur Andersen (80-82) and McKinsey (83-89). He holds a business degree from HEC Lausanne and an MBA from INSEAD, Fontainebleau. He is fluent in English, French, German and Spanish. Alain carries the prime responsibility for the following portfolio companies: CeQur, L.E.S.S., Myotest, NeoGyn, Nexthink, Silentsoft and Smallrivers.
